Research Associate (m/f/d) Circular Economy for the Automotive Industry

We are hiring a research associate to join us in contributing to a circular economy in the automotive industy. In the DigiPro2Green project, we are looking at a data-driven process planning and monitoring to increase the amount of secondary raw materials used for future cars. The position is full-time for 3 years, with an extension being desired. Payment will be made up to pay group 13 TV-L (100%) depending on the assignment of tasks and fulfillment of personal requirements.

Tasks:

  • Deployment of machine learning and deep learning based on simulated and real production data under the condition of volatile secondary materials properties
  • Development of a multi-criteria (ecological, mechanical) assistance system for process monitoring as well as planning and control of a process chain

What you need:

  • Successfully completed master‘s degree in the field of engineering (e.g. mechanical enginnering, mechatronics), industrial engineering, bioengineering, computer science or in related fields,
  • Enjoy working on data analytics solutions
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Interest and ideally prior experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Development and implementation of Industry 4.0 applications in the context of circular economy and/or automotive production
    • Deployment of methods and tools for modeling complex production systems, i.a. data analytics (e.g. Python) and simulation (e.g. FEM), possibly life cycle assessment
